Since its founding in 1935, TDK has developed and manufactured electronics as well as recording and data storage media. TDK gained global recognition after designing and producing compact cassette tapes in the mid-1960s. These convenient tapes recorded great sound, and updated models continued to be widely used well into the compact disc revolution.
TDK now produces DVDs, CDs, camcorder media, VHS tapes, audio tapes, MiniDiscs, headphones, and cleaning accessories. For professionals and medical information storage, TDK also manufactures specially designed storage media.
The first media production company to join in the development of Blu-Ray Discs, TDK offers the next generation of recording and storage media for home and commercial use. Constantly evolving, TDK adapts to the latest technology and makes it available to everyone.
