A.A. Milne is the creator of the fictional character, Winnie the Pooh. Milne's son's toy bear, Christopher Robin Milne, was the basis for the character Christopher Robin. Most of Pooh's other characters were also named after his son's stuffed animals.
Milne's hometown in East Sussex, England was the basis for all of the Winnie the Pooh stories. The author's tales were eventually picked up by The New York Evening Post and St. Nicholas Magazine. Eventually Pooh and his friends began appearing everywhere from Disney animated films to television specials.
Together Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore and Christopher Robin continue to explore the world, meet new friends and learn valuable lessons.
