Founded in 1918, Ortofon was the first company to present a film with sound – fully synchronized, of course. Since then, they have been constantly innovating to improve sound quality and technology for the film, recording and DJ industries.
The Ortofon "System Peterson oh Poulsen" is the basis for film with optical sound even to this day. They also were the first to produce an outdoor sound film recording.
Ortofon currently sells moving coils, constantly refining them to get premium sound quality from analogue recordings. They also have magnetic cartridges for Hi-Fi use, rugged disco cartridges used by the most demanding DJs, disco cartridge sets, cables, and replacement styli.
