Constantly being dragged away from your family on business trips is frustrating for any parent, but there was a silver lining for David Michel. His three year old was fascinated by his father’s tales of flying around the globe. Seeing an opportunity to educate and entertain, David created Jay Jay the Jet Plane. Originally a successful children’s cartoon under its own distribution, the show has now found a home on PBS Kids.

Each episode strives to teach its viewers an important life lesson on subjects including cooperation, teamwork, responsibility, science and nature. Entertainment is not forgotten, however, since each episode promises an exciting adventure for Jay Jay and friends.

Jay Jay has moved into merchandising as well, offering everything from backpacks to plastic and die-cast characters to puzzles and videos.
