One of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of building supplies, Georgia-Pacific has been leading the industry for almost 100 years. Founded as a small hardwood lumber yard in Augusta, Georgia, the company now employs more than 55, 000 people at 300 locations in the United States, Canada, and across the world.

By the 1950s, the hard work and determination of founder, Owen Cheatham, had paid off. The biggest supplier of lumber to the U.S. armed forces during the war, the company's contributions to their country weren't forgotten when the soldiers came home, and by 1956, sales had reached $121 million.

Today, Georgia-Pacific is a subsidiary of Koch Industries, operating from its Atlanta headquarters. It is a conscientious company, donating supplies and relief to hurricane victims, and helping repair and rebuild homes for low-income elderly Americans and the disabled through partnerships with Rebuilding together and the TGA Grand Champions Tour.
