Boston-based First Act provides musical instruments and custom electric guitars for players of all levels. They have guitars, bass guitars, drums and percussion instruments, violins, clarinets, flutes, trumpets, saxophones and accessories. Unlike just about any instrument company around, they take apprentices to learn to be luthiers, fine makers of stringed instruments.
They also have a line of drums and percussion instruments, guitars and accessories designed by professionals specifically for kids. Studies have shown that playing musical instruments from an early age can increase a child's intellectual, emotional, physical and social development; music stimulates the brain and provides a strong base for listening, creativity and language skills. Encouraging this, First Act is committed to being a leader in the industry and supporting various music education advocacy organizations.
