Leo Fender didn't invent the electric guitar, but his mass-produced and affordable instruments broke new ground and set countless trends in the industry. Fender's fist model was introduced as the 'Broadcaster' in 1950. Known now as the 'Telecaster', this was the first important solid-body electric guitar ever made.
