Elan enjoy a long and storied history within the snow sports industry. Founded in 1945, the Slovenian company started by selling skis, briefly switched to focus on tennis and badminton racquets, then went back to skis in the 60s.
By 1965, Elan was the ski of choice for the all-conquering World Champion Ingemar Stenmark. The popularity of Elan exploded, thanks to Stenmark, and the company continued to innovate. Tens years later, Elan were still on top of the mountain, and the brand was inextricably linked to the sport.
When snowboarding rose to prominence, Elan took up the challenge and created a top line of wide boards. Today, with the popularity of skiing once again in the ascendancy, Elan has retaken it's position at the head of the industry.
