The California Golden Bears are the 27 varsity athletic teams of the University of California, Berkeley. Although the school is currently well known for basketball and football, many athletes have competed in the Olympics for a host of countries.

Cal is a member of the Pac 10 conference, with some teams in the Mountain Pacific Sport Federation. Two of their most successful sports, crew and rugby, are not sanctioned by the NCAA. Men's crew, Cal's first team, was created in 1924 and has won 15 national championships to date.
