Founded in 1996, the Baltimore Ravens are the winners of the 2000 Super Bowl Championships. Playing in a stadium with no official name, the first few seasons brought the Ravens few highlights.

Eventually the tides began to turn, leading up to the eventual wildcard spot into 2000 playoffs. In the championship season, the team set two NFL records, holding their opponents to just 165 points, surpassing the 1985 Chicago Bears by 33 points, and the same team's opponent total yards rushing. Top players on the team, past and present, include Kyle Boller, Steve McNair, Trent Dilfer, Tony Banks, Duane Starks, Peter Boulware, Earnest Byner, Jeff Mitchell, and Jamal and Jermaine Lewis.

Edgar Allan Poe spent his later years in Baltimore, inspiring the team's winged mascots to be named Edgar, Allen, and Poe, and the team itself to be named after his foremost poem, "The Raven".
