One of the great Negro League teams of professional baseball's early heyday, the Baltimore Black Sox were a championship winning team. Beginning as an independent team in 1916, they were one of the Eastern Colored League's original six in 1923. The "Million Dollar Infield" of the 1929 season wowed audiences with their smart, confident plays. The team Infield include Jud "Boojum" Wilson, Frank Warfield, Oliver "Ghost" Marcelle and Sir Richard Lundy.
The team joined the East-West League for the 1932 season, winning the league championship. The team played in the American Negro League and Negro National League as well.
Today, a whole new generation is interested in the sporting legends of days gone by. This has sparked commemorative t-shirts and jerseys.
