In 1984, Avent Naturally was born as a result of Atkin's observations. He was determined to create a bottle that was similar to breastfeeding. The end product was a baby bottle that set the standard for feeding bottles worldwide. The main differences were a wide neck and base for easy cleaning and filling.
Odorless, tasteless silicone was the material chosen for the teat of the bottle. The unique venting system created by Atkin reduces colic in the newborn baby. After the innovative bottle was created, Avent didn't stop there. The company went on to improve many other baby feeding products on the market.
