Avatars, Aang and the rest of their friends are on a quest to save the world from the evil Fire Nation. Avatar is an American animated television series featured on the Nickelodeon network. The show also appears in many other countries worldwide.

The shows are written from a book series where each chapter equals one episode and each book equals one season. The show is set in an Asian-influenced environment of martial arts and elemental magic.

Avatar made its' television debut in February 2005, almost four months after it was set to air. The show was planned for children from 6-11 years of age.
