Owner Jerry Meador's talent as a musician and his training in engineering, combine to aid him as a woodworker for the American Dulcimers company. His experience working with wood for the past 20 years, has given him fine wood knowledge that he now applies to crafting instruments today.

The rich tones and sounds of the Appalachian dulcimer are recreated by Meador, through his instruments today. He creates "furniture quality" dulcimers, cut at jut the right angle to show off the beautiful grain of the wood.

American Dulcimers crafts only one type of instrument, the mountain dulcimer, in three different styles (Student, Hourglass and Teardrop).
