Peter Parker is a freelance photographer by day and a crime-fighting superhero by night. All the trouble begins after Peter is bitten by a spider. Spiderman struggles to balance his public and private image, while he supports his Aunt May and aides his not-so-romantic relationship, with Betty Brandt.

Marvel's first issue of the comic, The Amazing Spider-Man, appeared on newsstands in 1963. Writer/editor, Stan Lee and artist/co-writer, Steve Ditko created the character. For the next three years they produced 38 issues, and thereafter many writers took over the action-packed adventures of Spider-Man.

The Amazing Spider-Man also appeared as a cartoon TV series and a comic strip, which is still in circulation today.
