Before skate shoes had been established as a legitimate category of the footwear industry, Airwalk pioneered skate shoe design, production and distribution. As skate shoes grew in popularity, so did Airwalk.
Success with shoe design prompted the company to expand. Production of other skate attire as well as snowboard boots began. Airwalk snowboard boots quickly gained a reputation for comfort and fit, thanks to improvements in lateral support and quick lacing systems.
