Until 2005, Air France was the national airline of France. It has now merged with KLM to become Air France-KLM, and employs over 70,000 people. Headquartered at Charles de Gaulle Airport, outside Pairs, Air France transports more than 40 million passengers yearly.

In terms of operating revenues, Air France-KLM is the largest airline company in the world. In service since 1933, Air France famously moved its base of operations to Casablanca during WWII and featured prominently in the movie of the same name.

More recently, Air France gained worldwide repute for being one of two airlines to use the supersonic Concorde. Perhaps the most striking passenger plane of all time, the Concorde was retired in May 2003. Air France continues to service more than 180 destinations using a fleet of 237 aircraft.
