Masses of fans cheer on the band 311 each and every time they take the stage. This five-piece American group meshes ska, reggae, punk, funk and rap to create their unique alternative-based tracks.
Beginning in 1989, Tim Mahoney, Chad Sexton, Aaron Wills and Nick Hexum have worked their way to widespread commercial success. From '89 until '92 the band stayed within the local bracket, until SA Martinez was asked to join as lead vocalist. The five-some then relocated to Los Angeles and were picked up by Capricorn Records.
The 1995 release of their self-titled 311 album placed the group in the mainstream and proudly on the Billboard charts.
